The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.

Warnings
DANGER! Extremely flammable liquid and vapor.
Vapors may cause flash fire. Contents under pressure. Vapor harmful.
Not intended for use on soft vinyl, vinyl fabric, or infant toys. Use with adequate ventilation. Contains Dimethyl Ketone, Isobutyl Acetate, Petroleum Distallates, Pseudo Cumene, Ethyl Acetate, Xylene, Ethylbenzene. Vapor Harmful. May affect the brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache or nausea. Causes eye, skin, nose and throat irritation. Do not puncture or incinerate (burn) container. Exposure to heat or prolonged exposure to sun may cause bursting. Do not expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120 degrees F (49 degrees C.) Replace cap after each use. Vapors may ignite explosively. Keep away from heat sparks and flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights and turn off stoves, heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache or dizziness or if air monitoring demonstrates vapor/mist levels are above applicable limits, wear an appropriate, properly fitted respirator (NIOSH Approved) during and after application. Follow respirator manufacturer's directions for respirator use. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Delayed effect from long term exposure: NOTICE- Reports have associated repeated or prolonged occupational exposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Emergency medical telephone: 1-888-345-5732 -
Acute health effects
From MSDS
HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Primary Routes of Exposure: Inhalation; Ingestion; Skin absorption
Eye Contact: Severe eye irritation
Skin Contact: Causes skin irritation. May cause defatting of the skin. Dermatitis. Harmful if absorbed through skin. Can be absorbed through skin.
Ingestion: Irritation of the mouth, throat, and stomach. Harmful if swallowed. Aspiration hazard if swallowed - can enter lungs and cause damage.
Inhalation: Causes respiratory tract irritation. Harmful by inhalation. May cause bronchopneumonia or bronchitis. -
Chronic health effects
From MSDS:
This product contains ingredients that may contribute to the following potential chronic health effects: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. -
Carcinogenicity
Possible cancer hazard. Contains material which may cause cancer based on animal data.
Contains ethylbenzene, which has been determined by NTP to be an animal carcinogen with no known relevance to humans. IARC has classified ethylbenzene as possibly carcinogenic to humans (2b) on the basis of sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in laboratory animals but inadequate evidence of cancer in humans. Contains TIO2 which is listed by IARC as a possible human carcinogen (Group 2B) based on animal data. Neither long term animal studies, nor human epidemiology studies of workers exposed to TIO2 provide an adequate basis to conclude TIO2 is carcinogenic. TIO2 is not classified as a carcinogen by NTP, U.S. OSHA, or the U.S. EPA. -
Handling information
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. - No smoking. Keep container closed when not in use. Do not store above 120 degrees F. (49 degrees C). Based on flash point and vapor pressure, suitable storage should be provided in accordance with OSHA regulation 1910.106, Ontario OH&S regulation 851 section 22. Empty containers may contain product residue, including flammable or explosive vapors. Do not cut, puncture or weld on or near container. All label warnings must be observed until the container has been commercially cleaned or reconditioned. If the product is used near or above the flashpoint, an ignition hazard may be present. Activities, uses, or operations which liberate vapor (such as mixing or free fall of liquids) may also present an ignition hazard. Please ensure containers and other interconnected equipment are properly bonded and grounded at all times. -
Disposal information
Dispose of waste at an approved hazardous waste treatment/disposal facility in accordance with applicable local, provincial and federal regulations. -
California Prop. 65 Warning
WARNING! This product contains a chemical known in the State of California to cause cancer.

First Aid
Eye Contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If easy to do, remove contact lenses. If medical assistance is not immediately available, flush an additional 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention, if symptoms develop or persist.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Give one or two glasses of water. Only induce vomiting at the instruction of medical personnel. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent aspiration. Get medical attention immediately.
Inhalation: Move injured person into fresh air and keep person calm under observation. Get medical attention immediately. For breathing difficulties, oxygen may be necessary. If breathing stops, provide artificial respiration.
Medical conditions aggravated by exposure: Any respiratory or skin condition.
