The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards.This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.
  The GHS classifications for chemicals associated with products in this database may be viewed by selecting the "Advanced" button on the Chemical Ingredients tables. Since this is a work in progress, GHS classifications may not be shown for all chemical ingredients.

  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or
  3.  Identified, on a case-by-case basis, from scientific evidence as causing probable serious effects to human health or the environment of an equivalent level of concern as those above (e.g. endocrine disrupters).

      Caution: Contains Mineral Spirits. Precautionary Measures for Use and Handling. May cause eye, skin, nose and throat irritation. Use in a well ventilated area. Provide fresh air such that chemical odors cannot be detected during use and while drying. Avoid skin contact. Prolonged vapor inhalation may result in severe physical injury. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Keep out of reach of children. Do not take internally. First Aid: Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, call physician immediately. Ingestion: do not induce vomiting, call physician or regional poison control center immediately. Eye Contact: flush eyes with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Call a physician immediately. Skin Contact: wash thoroughly with soap and water. This product is manufactured for the use of consumers. If used in the workplace, obtain the Material Safety Data Sheet.

    • Acute health effects

      From MSDS Inhalation: May irritate nose and upper respiratory tract. Harmful if inhaled. Inhalation may affect the brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache, or nausea. Eye Contact: May irritate eyes. Skin Contact: May irritate skin. Ingestion: Harmful or fatal if swallowed. If ingested this product may cause vomiting, diarrhea, and depressed respiration.

    • Chronic health effects

      From MSDS Reports have associated permanent brain and nervous system damage with prolonged and repeated occupational overexposure to solvents.

    • Carcinogenicity

      From MSDS This product is not considered a carcinogen by the NTP, IARC, or OSHA.

    • Handling information

      From MSDS Store away from caustics and oxidizers. Keep out of reach of children. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Keep containers from excessive heat and freezing. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling vapors may be harmful or fatal.

    • Disposal information

      From MSDS Dispose of in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Discarded material should be incinerated at a permitted facility. Do not reuse empty container.
