Eye Contact: Get medical attention immediately. Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contactlenses, if present, after the first five minutes, then continue rinsing eye.
Skin Contact: Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Destroy contaminated shoes. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Wash skin with soap and water.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
Ingestion: Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Do NOT induce vomiting. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Notes to Physician: Chemical eye burns require extended irrigation. Obtain prompt consultation, preferably from an ophthalmologist. Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage. If burn is present, treat as any thermal burn, after decontamination. Due to irritant properties, swallowing may result in burns/ulceration of mouth, stomach and lower GI tract with subsequent stricture. Aspiration of vomitus may cause cause lung injury. Suggest endrotracheal/esophageal control if lavage is done. No specific antidote. Treatment of exposure should be directed at the control of symptoms and the clinical condition of the patient. Have the Safety Data Sheet, and if available, the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor, or going for treatment.
