The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards.This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.
  The GHS classifications for chemicals associated with products in this database may be viewed by selecting the "Advanced" button on the Chemical Ingredients tables. Since this is a work in progress, GHS classifications may not be shown for all chemical ingredients.

  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or
  3.  Identified, on a case-by-case basis, from scientific evidence as causing probable serious effects to human health or the environment of an equivalent level of concern as those above (e.g. endocrine disrupters).

      May cause eye and skin irritation. Avoid breathing spray mist or dust. If painting indoors, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache or dizziness, or if air monitoring demonstrates vapor/mist levels are above applicable limits, wear an appropriate, properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) during and after application.       HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
      Primary Routes of Exposure: Inhalation; Ingestion; Skin absorption
      Eye Contact: Moderate eye irritation.
      Skin Contact: Dermatitis.
      Ingestion: Irritation of the mouth, throat, and stomach. Toxic if swallowed.
      Inhalation: Causes respiratory tract irritation. Harmful by inhalation.
      

    • Chronic health effects

      From MSDS:
      This product contains ingredients that may contribute to the following potential chronic health effects: Overexposure may cause nervous system damage. Prolonged exposure to respirable crystalline quartz silica may cause delayed chronic injury (silicosis).

    • Carcinogenicity

      Possible cancer hazard. Contains material which may cause cancer based on animal data. Cancer hazard. Contains material which can cause cancer.
      Contains TIO2 which is listed by IARC as a possible human carcinogen (Group 2B) based on animal data. Neither long term animal studies, nor human epidemiology studies of workers exposed to TIO2 provide an adequate basis to conclude TIO2 is carcinogenic. TIO2 is not classified as a carcinogen by NTP, U.S. OSHA, or the U.S. EPA. Contains crystaline silica. The IARC has determined that crystaline silica inhaled in the form of quartz or cristobablite from occupational sources is carcinogenic to humans (group 1). Refer to IARC monograph 68 in conjunction with the use of these materials. Risk of cancer depends on the duration and level of exposure. In coatings products, risk is due primarily to inhalation of sanding dusts or respirable particles in spray mists. The NTP has also determined that crystaline silica is a known human carcinogen in the form of fine, breathable particles. Risk of cancer depends on duration and level of exposure in coatings products, risk is due primarily to inhalation of sanding dust or respirable particles in spray mist.

    • Handling information

      Keep container closed when not in use. Do not freeze. Since emptied containers may contain product residue, follow all label warnings, even after container is emptied. Do not cut, drill, grind, or weld on or near this container.

    • Disposal information

      Dispose of waste at an approved hazardous waste treatment/disposal facility in accordance with applicable local, provincial and federal regulations.

    • California Prop. 65 Warning

      WARNING! This product contains a chemical known in the State of California to cause cancer.

    • First Aid

      Eye Contact: Get medical attention, if symptoms develop or persist. Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and open eyes wide apart.
      Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention, if symptoms develop or persist.
      Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Give one or two glasses of water. Only induce vomiting at the instruction of medical personnel. Get medical attention immediately.
      Inhalation: Move injured person into fresh air and keep person calm under observation. Get medical attention immediately.
      Medical conditions aggravated by exposure: Any respiratory or skin condition.
