The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards.This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.
  The GHS classifications for chemicals associated with products in this database may be viewed by selecting the "Advanced" button on the Chemical Ingredients tables. Since this is a work in progress, GHS classifications may not be shown for all chemical ingredients.

  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or
  3.  Identified, on a case-by-case basis, from scientific evidence as causing probable serious effects to human health or the environment of an equivalent level of concern as those above (e.g. endocrine disrupters).

      HEALTH HAZARD DATA
      CAUTION: This product is clear or opaque colored liquid gel with a pleasant fragrance. Direct contact with eyes may cause irritation. Repeated or prolonged excessive contact with skin may cause irritation or dermatitis. No significant environmental effects. Not a fire hazard. Product is stable. This product is labeled in accordance with guidelines set forth in the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The use pattern and exposure in the workplace are generally not consistent with those experienced by consumers. The requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration applicable to this Material Safety Data Sheet may differ from the requirements of the FD&C Act and as a result, this MSDS may contain additional health hazard information not pertinent to consumer use and not found on the product label.
      POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
      NOTE: The acute health effects described below are those which could potentially occur for the finished product. They are based on the toxicology information available for the finished product and/or each hazardous ingredient, and are consistent with the product type and the likelihood of a specific route of exposure. Known chronic health effects related to exposure to a specific ingredient are indicated.
      EYE CONTACT: This product may cause moderate to severe irritation.
      SKIN CONTACT: Repeated or prolonged excessive contact may cause irritation or dermatitis.
      INGESTION: May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
      INHALATION: Unlikely to occur due to the physical properties of the product. At elevated temperatures, vapors or mists may cause irritation.
      MEDICAL CONDITIONS GENERALLY RECOGNIZED AS BEING AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Pre-existing skin conditions.

    • Handling information

      HANDLING: Do not get in eyes. Do not take internally. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid generating aerosols and mists.
      STORAGE: Store in original containers in a cool dry area. Storage areas for large quantities (warehouse) should be well ventilated. Keep the containers tightly closed when not in use.

    • Disposal information

      This product is not a RCRA hazardous waste and can be disposed of in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

    • First Aid

      EYES: Rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water, occasionally lifting upper and lower lids, until no evidence of product remains. Get medical attention if pain or irritation persists.
      SKIN: Rinse affected area with plenty of water until no evidence of product remains. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
      INGESTION: Treat symptomatically and supportively. Maintain airway and respiration. If vomiting occurs, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration. Dilution by rinsing the mouth and giving water or milk to drink is generally recommended. If unconscious, the victim should not be given anything to drink. Contact physician or local poison control center.
      INHALATION: Remove from exposure area to fresh air. Keep affected person warm and at rest. Treat symptomatically and supportively. Contact physician or local poison control center. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration, and get medical attention immediately.
      NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: The physician's judgment should be used to control symptoms and clinical condition based on the individual reactions of the patient.
