  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

    • Warnings

      Causes substantial but temporary eye injury. Harmful if swallowed. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Wear goggles, face shield or safety glasses when mixing, pouring this concentrate from one container to another and when removing or reattaching container closure/spray nozzle. After product has been diluted in accordance with Directions for Use, eye protection is not required. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Drift or runoff may adversely affect non-target plants. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. When cleaning equipment, do not pour washwater on the ground; spray or drain over a large area away from wells and other water sources. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system. Do not contaminate water used for irrigation or domestic purposes. Most cases of ground water contamination involving phenoxy herbicides such as MCPA have been associated with mixing/loading and disposal sites. Caution should be exercised when handling these phenoxy pesticides at such sites to prevent contamination of groundwater supplies. Use of closed systems for mixing and transferring this pesticide will reduce the probability of spills. Placement of the mixing/loading equipment on an impervious pad to contain spills will help prevent groundwater contamination. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

    • Acute health effects

      From MSDS
      ROUTES OF ENTRY: Contact, ingestion.
      EYES: Direct and prolonged eye exposure to the concentrated product may cause corneal opacity, irreversible eye damage.
      SKIN: May cause mild skin irritation in some individuals. Harmful if absorbed through skin. Prolonged or repeated overexposure may result in effects similar to those caused by ingestion.
      INGESTION: May cause muscle weakness, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Fall in blood pressure or myotonia (prolonged muscular spasm) may occur under extreme conditions. Can be fatal.
      MEDICAL CONDITIONS POSSIBLY AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Skin exposure may aggravate existing skin conditions. Exposure to mist may aggravate existing respiratory conditions.

    • Chronic health effects

      Store in a cool, dry place and avoid excess heat. Store in original containers only. Wash hands and other exposed skin surfaces prior to smoking or consuming food or beverages. Do not put concentrate or dilute material into food or drink containers. Do not contaminate other pesticides, fertilizers, water, food or feed by improper storage or disposal.

    • Disposal information

      Open dumping or burning of this material is prohibited. An acceptable method of disposal is to burn in an incinerator in accordance with all local, state and federal environmental laws, rules, standards and regulations. Because acceptable methods of disposal may vary by location and because regulatory requirements may change, the appropriate regulatory agencies should be contacted prior to disposal. Steel containers which contained these materials must be crushed and disposed of in a sanitary landfill. Do not cut or weld steel containers.

    • First Aid

      EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eyes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
      SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing and wash with soap and water immediately. Obtain medical attention if irritation persists.
      INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult or if any discomfort persists, obtain medical attention.
      INGESTION: If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor or going to for treatment.
