  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or
  3.  Identified, on a case-by-case basis, from scientific evidence as causing probable serious effects to human health or the environment of an equivalent level of concern as those above (e.g. endocrine disrupters).

      Danger: Contains mineral spirits. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Do not take internally. Skin irritant. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses when handling. Combustible. Do not use or store near heat, sparks, flame or other source of ignition. Close container after each use. Avoid inhalation. If using indoors, open all windows and doors to make sure there is fresh air movement. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call physician immediately. For skin contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists, get medical attention. For eye contact: Immediately flush thoroughly with water, then remove contact lenses. Continue to flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention. If affected by inhalation, immediately remove to fresh air.       ROUTES OF EXPOSURE
      Exposure may be by INHALATION and/or SKIN or EYE contact, depending on
      conditions of use. To minimize exposure, follow recommendations for proper use, ventilation, and personal protective equipment.
      EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE
      Irritation of eyes, skin and respiratory system. May cause nervous system
      depression. Extreme overexposure may result in unconsciousness and possibly death.
      
      SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF OVEREXPOSURE
      Headache, dizziness, nausea, and loss of coordination are indications of
      excessive exposure to vapors or spray mists.
      Redness and itching or burning sensation may indicate eye or excessive skin
      exposure.
      
      MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE:
      None generally recognized.

    • Chronic health effects

      CHRONIC
      Prolonged overexposure to solvent ingredients may cause adverse effects to the liver and urinary systems. Reports have associated repeated and prolonged overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage.

    • Carcinogenicity

      Cobalt and cobalt compounds are classified by IARC as possibly carcinogenic to
      humans (group 2B) based on experimental animal data, however, there is inadequate evidence in humans for its carcinogenicity.

      PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORAGE
      Contents are COMBUSTIBLE. Keep away from heat and open flame.
      Consult NFPA Code. Use approved Bonding and Grounding procedures.
      Keep container closed when not in use. Transfer only to approved containers
      with complete and appropriate labeling. Do not take internally. Keep out of the
      reach of children.
      
      PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN USE
      Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor and spray mist.
      Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wash hands after using. These coatings may contain materials classified as nuisance particulates which may be present at hazardous levels only during sanding or abrading of the dried film.

      Waste from these products may be hazardous as defined under the Resource
      Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) 40 CFR 261. Waste must be tested for
      ignitability to determine the applicable EPA hazardous waste numbers.
      Incinerate in approved facility. Do not incinerate closed container. Dispose
      of in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding pollution.

      If INHALED: If affected, remove from exposure. Restore breathing. Keep warm
      and quiet.
      If on SKIN: Wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water. Remove
      contaminated clothing and launder before re-use.
      If in EYES: Flush eyes with large amounts of water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
