The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards.This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.
  The GHS classifications for chemicals associated with products in this database may be viewed by selecting the "Advanced" button on the Chemical Ingredients tables. Since this is a work in progress, GHS classifications may not be shown for all chemical ingredients.

  SVHC is a substance (identified by the European Chemicals Agency) that may have serious and often irreversible effects on human health and the environment. SVHC are defined in Article 57 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (“the REACH Regulation”) and include substances which are:
  1.  Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or toxic to Reproduction (CMR), meeting the criteria for classification in category 1 or 2 in accordance with Directive 67/548/EEC or in category 1a or 1b in accordance with EC No 1272/2008This directive was recently replaced by the new EU regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
  2.  Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic (PBT) or very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria in Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation, or

      INHALATION: Inhalation of aerosol dusts may cause sensitization in hypersensitive individuals, severe irritation, delayed pulmonary edema and nasal septum deviation.
      INGESTION: Slightly toxic; ingestion can cause severe pain, diarrhea, and corrosive damage to GI tract. Potential aspiration hazard if ingested.

      Store in original containers in a cool dry place. Avoid formation of airborne dusts and contact with product during handling and clean up. This product will react with acids to yield carbon dioxide gas, which can accumulate in confined spaces. Do not enter confined spaces until they have been well ventilated and carbon dioxide levels have been determined to be safe.

      EYES: Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, flush immediately with clean flowing water, low pressure and lukewarm if possible. After an initial flush, check for and remove contact lenses if present. Continue flushing for 15 minutes occasionally lifting upper and lower eyelids. Seek medical attention.
      SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed areas with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation develops and persists. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
      INHALATION: Avoid inappropriate handling that may result in the generation of aerosol dusts. If inhaled, move away from contaminated area to fresh air. Seek medical attention if person has difficulty breathing, chest discomfort, or exhibits any other signs of allergic response.
      INGESTION: Causes irritation to mouth and throat. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. If person is conscious, give 1-2 glasses of water to drink. Never give anything orally to an unconscious person. Seek medical attention.
